Atlanta Falcons safety William Moore has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Week after his two interception performance in Atlantas 23-13 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 13.
Moore posted one of the best games of his career, notching a game-high 13 tackles (10 solo) with two interceptions, and two tackles for loss. The Falcons defense intercepted Saints QB Drew Brees five times and held him without a touchdown pass for the first time in 54 games to snap his NFL record streak. Thursdays game marked the fifth time this season the Falcons have recorded multiple picks in a game and it was the first time since 11/9/1980 that the Falcons intercepted five passes. Moores second interception of the game came on the Saints final drive sealing the win for Atlanta and putting the Falcons in position to clinch their second NFC South title under Head Coach Mike Smith. FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. With 4:25 left in regulation and his team leading the New Orleans Saints by seven points, Falcons head coach Mike Smith elected to try a 55-yard field goal.
If Falcons kicker Matt Bryant had missed and Bryant was coming off a game in which he uncharacteristically missed two of three attempts the Saints would have had the ball at the Falcons 45-yard-line and...

Al Davis would've loved these Atlanta Falcons.
All they do is win, baby.
Sure, it's rarely with a lot of flare.
There's no voters to impress or computers to win over in the NFL.
''Style points don't get you a ring,'' linebacker Mike Peterson was saying the other day, holding court beside his locker before practice. ''Our goal...
