Falcons GM Tom Dimitroff and the rest of the Falcons aren't going to let Tony Gonzalez walk without a fight.
“A guy who is 36 catching 100-plus balls (including the postseason), it just doesn’t seem like it’s time for him to move on," Dimitroff said while visiting the Super Bowl media center, via Pat Yasinskas of ESPN.
Dimitroff is also has let Tony know his feelings. “I definitely already have," he said.
Gonzalez looks to still be in top shape for his age and would open up a hole in the Falcons offense if he goes, something tha'st not lost of the Falcons organzation. He said several times late in the season that there was 95% chance of him retiring, so hope is still alive in Atlanta.
Tony’s a man and he’s got to make his own decision," Dimitroff said. “Suffice it to say that it’s not going to be an easy decision for him one way or another because he knows that he still has fuel in the tank and it’s very legitimate fuel in the tank."
