The Atlanta Falcons would rather avoid a situation similar to Joe Flacco in Baltimore, with QB Matt Ryan playing out his final contract year without a deal. Both sides, understandably want an extension done, but with the 2013 NFL Draft only mere days away, it's time to hit the pause buttons on talks, and focus on bettering the team through the draft. "The situation is, as we've mentioned, both parties, we're in a very comfortable situation," Falcons GM Tom Dimitroff said, via The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "We are focused on the draft again. After the draft we'll continue to discuss (Ryan's contract) and I'm sure both parties, Matt and the Falcons are feeling good about making sure that this gets done at the right time." After the draft, expect things to heat up again, with reports that Ryan is due a pretty sweet deal. The team has been dumping salary in anticipation, and the deal will reportedly surpass Flacco's deal of $120.6 million. "There is no time frame on it right now and I don't want to keep you hanging on it, but I feel confident things are going to be taken care of when the time is proper," Dimitroff said.
