After a wild Week 1,the NFL’s second week has gained intrigue, especially in the virtual atmosphere. Ahead we check out sleepers for Week 2, because regardless of your first game’s result the upcoming matchup can change the complexion of your season. Beginning 2-0 is great, and it obviously helps getting ahead early in the playoff picture. That said, avoiding an 0-2 start and getting to 1-1 drastically helps in the grand scheme of things. Let’s take a quick look at this week’s sleepers.   Carolina Panthers Defense (at Bills) Against one of pro football’s most balanced offenses (Seattle), the Panthers limited Russell Wilson to just one passing score. Despite his 320 passing yards and 75.7 completion percentage, Carolina stuffed Marshawn Lynch and made the Seahawks one-dimensional. Traveling to the Buffalo Bills this week, the Cats face a rookie signal-caller in EJ Manuel who did perform well against the Patriots in Week 1. Unlike New England, though, Carolina fields a better pass rush and a better front seven to stop the run. As a result, expect the Panthers to blitz often and isolate Buffalo’s ground game to put Manuel in unfavorable situations.   Tyler Eifert: TE, Bengals (vs. Steelers) In a sold Week 1 showing, Cincinnati’s rookie tight end Tyler Eifert caught five passes for 47 yards. That was the second-most for the Bengals receiving targets against Chicago. And in PPR leagues, the rookie will be solid with A.J. Green and fellow tight end Jermaine Gresham drawing attention. This week, Eifert and co. host the 0-1 Pittsburgh Steelers. Even with a defense that still features Troy Polamalu, Pittsburgh only recorded one sack and didn’t force a turnovers in a home loss to Tennessee in Week 1. Given that Cincy possesses a much more explosive offense than the Titans, expect Eifert to help Andy Dalton stretch the field on Monday night.   Michael Floyd: WR, Cardinals (vs. Lions) Arizona’s offense got a strong boost from Carson Palmer’s acquisition. Palmer threw for 327 passing yards, 82 of which went to second-year man Michael Floyd. The Notre Dame product also caught four passes on six targets. Floyd stepped up nicely against the Rams and this week the Cardinals face a weaker pass defense. Detroit wasn’t challenged in Week 1, mainly because they faced the Vikings and quarterback Christian Ponder has yet to develop a threatening aerial assault. But, when you put Palmer under center with Larry Fitzgerald, Floyd and Andre Roberts out wide, and the Lions will have their hands full in Week 2.   Follow John on Twitter @Rozum27 The post Fantasy Football 2013: Week 2 sleepers appeared first on Midwest Sports Fans.
