Week 11 is here, and so are we with another round of sleepers for your Week 11 fantasy football lineups. You still have plenty of time to set your rosters for Sunday. Take a few minutes and see if any of these guys are available. James Starks, Green Bay Packers In the Packers last game, Starks was handed the ball more times than starter Alex Green and is now reportedly the Packers’ top back. Although GB RBs haven’t produced much since Cedric Benson went down with an injury, a starting running back on such a potent offense must be owned in all leagues … although he’s only owned in 6.6% of ESPN leagues … 6.6! This week, Starks and the Packers face a mediocre Lions defense in the comfortable conditions of a dome. As I’ve said before, I look for Green Bay to run the ball a lot down the stretch to 1) not wear out Aaron Rodgers and 2) to make sure defenses don’t catch up to him like they did last year. In week 9, the Packers ran the ball 28 times between Starks and Green, so if they continue to pound the ball on the ground a lot, the lead man will always have the chance to rack up the yards and/or get in the end zone for you. Let’s not forget – Starks helped lead GB to a Super Bowl title 2 years ago. Credit: Getty Images Marcel Reece, Oakland With Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson out for the Raiders, fullback Marcel Reece has been the lead back in Oakland. Throughout the pasttwo2 weeks, Reece has combined for 24 fantasy points in ESPN Standard Leagues, as he’s been used heavily as a pass catcher out of the backfield. This week, there will be a lot of yards to be had against the poor Saints defense, both on the ground and through the air. For some reason, Reece is only owned in 28.7% of ESPN leagues, but in my opinion he is a good RB2 option and a great FLEX play in the immediate future. I think he’ll have 15-20 touches this week and rack up around 100 total yards. If he’s available in your league and you’re still trying to figure out a plug-in start, this is your guy in week 11. Carson Palmer likes sending the ball Reece’s way, so there’s no reason for that trend to stop. Credit: Getty Images Cecil Shorts, Jacksonville Only owned in about a quarter of ESPN leagues is Jacksonville QB Blaine Gabbert’s favorite target, Cecil Shorts. I’ve been hesitant to buy in on Shorts, a guys who is primarily a deep threat and plays on one of the worst offenses in the NFL. But of late, Gabbert has been able to find Shorts with consistency. If you take out his poor performances in weeks 2 and 4, he’s averaging 79 receiving yards in the other 7 games including 4 touchdowns. If you’re not feeling too good about your matchup this week, Shorts could be a good option to turn to, as he definitely has the potential to bring in a big play or two, which in fantasy football is all you can ask for. Though they play the tough Texans I still like him in week 11 somewhat because I fully expect them to be playing from behind and in desperation mode for at least a couple quarters … which could play heavily in favor of Shorts. Shorts has been a no-name until this year, as he was drafted out of Mount Union in 2011. Credit: Getty Images Danario Alexander, San Diego Quickly becoming one of the hotter names among fantasy football sleepers is Danario Alexander, who seems to be taking over as the Chargers number 2 receiver and deep threat for the disappointing Robert Meachem, who the team acquired over the offseason. Alexander first showed his ability in week 9 with 3 receptions for 61 yards and then burst onto the scene last week against Tampa Bay when he hauled in 5 passes for 134 yards and a touchdown. Although Phillip Rivers has been erratic this season, he’s still fully capable of orchestrating a competent passing offense, especially considering their weak running attack. If Rivers likes throwing to Danario, which it appears he does, the targets will keep going his way. He’s only owned in 4.2% of ESPN leagues but is definitely worthy of a spot on your bench (at the very least) going forward. Alexander enjoying himself last week at Tampa Bay.
