Buffalo Bills @ Cleveland Browns

Buffalo Bills:  The Bills bounced back from getting trounced by the Jets in Week 1 to crush the turnstile Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2.  Ryan Fitzpatrick only completed 10 passes, but it was enough to account for 212 total yards and two touchdowns, including a 49 yard bomb to Steve Johnson.  He also hit Scott Chandler for TD of 10 yards; it’s funny, but somehow teams manage to not cover Chandler properly in the red zone, even though Fitzpatrick seems to use the big-bodied TE as his first read once there.

The reason Fitzpatrick only gets to toss a total of 19 passes in a game is because of the effectiveness of CJ Spiller.  Two weeks in, with only one start out of the two weeks, Spiller is the leading rusher in the NFL.  He gashed the Chiefs to the tune of 170 total yards and two scores; he’ll still get a good amount of yardage this week, but the Browns are a much stouter defense than the Chiefs, so temper expectations a little bit.  Still, I’m seeing 100 total yards and a good chance of at least one score.

Good Start:  RB CJ Spiller, WR Steve Johnson

Middle of the Road:  QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, TE Scott Chandler

Bad Start:  WR Donald Jones

Cleveland Browns:  Night and day.  That’s how you can describe Brandon Weeden’s week 1 disaster compared to his week 2 effort, where he showed that all hope may just not be lost for the Browns’ passing game.  And surprise surprise, once the passing game was clicking, Trent Richardson started finding bigger and bigger holes to run through.  Speaking of which, Richardson looked like the dominant back he was in college in Week 2; while the blocking was indeed much better, he showed great vision and the willingness to fight through contact.

The Bills aren’t a great defense, so look for a good effort out of Weeden.  You probably aren’t going to be starting him unless something went horribly wrong in your draft, but he is playable in deeper two QB leagues, especially against the Bills.  Greg Little finally showed up after being shut out in Week 1, and Mohamed Massoquoi showed that he just may be capable of being a lead dog WR for his team.  Both are worth rostering at this point to see if one or both can sustain their Week 2 success.  This game likely will be fairly high scoring like the Browns-Bengals game was last week, and it may come down to whoever has the ball last.

Good Start:  RB Trent Richardson

Middle of the Road:  QB Brandon Weeden, WR Greg Little, WR Mohamed Massoquoi

Bad Start:  WR Josh Gordon, WR Josh Cribbs, TE Ben Watson
