NorthWest Sports Beat:
While being a player is tough in the NFL. It’s a business and they all understand that. Being a fan is hard as well. As ridiculous as that may seem, we invest time and money to root on our favorite team and favorite players. When the business part of the NFL kicks in, it hurts the fans as well.
The Seattle Seahawks made a move that tugged on all our heartstrings when FB Michael Robinson took to Twitter with the following tweet:
Been real #12thMan will always have love for ya
— Michael Robinson (@RealMikeRob) August 31, 2013
If this is the case, this is a bold move by team brass to add Robinson to the casualty list when trimming the roster to the 53.
Michael Robinson’s leadership will be missed in Seattle
Robinson was instrumental in helping Pete Carroll and John Schneider implement their style of football: a physical ground and pound run game that would wear down defenses and open up the pass.
We all agree they have more than succeeded in that vision.
Besides dominating special teams and opening up holes for Marshawn Lynch, Robinson rushed for over 100 yards and had 3 touchdown receptions, including a big one in last year’s playoff game against Washington.
He was a Pro Bowler in 2011. He also provided invaluable leadership as demonstrated by several players who have praised Mike Rob for his knowledge and leadership.
Then you have The Real Rob Report. It is very rare these days for rich, famous and popular folk to give inside glimpses of any aspect of their lives.
RRR went well above and beyond that. Showing the characters in the locker room from Marshawn Lynch to Sidney Rice and Jermaine Kearse to the Legion of Boom gave the fans an inside look at our favorite team.
That inside look made us love the team more as well as the man who brought us the honesty behind the scenes, Michael Robinson.
From his inside views of the locker room to his veteran leadership to his knack for putting opponents on their backside, Mike Rob is going to be missed in Seattle.

The Seattle Seahawks will start the season with defensive end Chris Clemons on the 53-man active roster, rather than placing him on the physically unable to perform list.

Seahawks have released backup quarterback Brady Quinn, according to NFL.com's Dan Hanzus. Quinn had been competing with Tarvaris Jackson for the Seahawks No. 2
job behind incumbent starter Russell Wilson. He had spent the majority of the
preseason sitting behind Jackson on the depth chart, so his release is not
entirely unexpected. Quinn is a former first round draft...

Jason La Canfora of ESPN reports that the Seahawks are preparing to release veteran CB Antoine Winfield.
The Seahawks have made a name for themselves as they strictly abide by their “best-player-plays” mentality, which appears to put Winfield out of sorts with a team with a very deep depth at cornerback.
Both Brandon Browner and Richard Sherman are unmovable starters, while both...
