Found February 27, 2013 on Patriots Life:
With the future of Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd still in doubt, the New England Patriots will probably be targeting Wide Receivers in the off-season. And there are certainly some good pass catchers available in the upcoming draft. However, with a lack of draft picks to use, it's important that the Patriots pick the right guy. Here are 5 receivers we at Patriots Life have selected to look out for in the draft process: Keenan Allen - California Allen is a 6-3, 206 lbs receiver who could be exactly what the Patriots have been lacking since the days of Randy Moss. He got the size and speed to get separation from corners, and make catches in tight spots. Throw this kid a jump ball and he'll catch it, throw him a quick slant and he'll catch that too. He was also utilised in College as a returner and on screen passes too. Those are skills that will be regarded very highly in the Patriots offense. They might have to hope teams pas son him though, as it appears he'll be goin...

Danny Amendola vs Wes Welker???  Would you take one or Both??? Thanks for the submission, you can all send us something Patriots-y here if you want. As for your question I think if Welker comes back it’s probably unlikely they bring Amendola in, but I wouldn’t totally rule it out. I’d say then it comes down to him or Edelmand and I’d prefer Edelman.

Report: Brandon Lloyd Not Expected to Be Back for 2013 Season Due to ‘Erratic Behavior’

When the Patriots signed Brandon Lloyd during the 2012 offseason, they gave themselves an out heading into 2013 by including an option bonus. The Patriots are expected to use that out. Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe wrote on Tuesday that, “Odds are against Brandon Lloyd’s $3 million option bonus being picked up.” Bedard cited “erratic behavior in the locker room and on the...

Report: Patriots, Welker talking contract

According to the Boston Herald, the New England Patriots and wide receiver Wes Welker are discussing a possible contract extension. These discussions were held independent of Tom Brady‘s contract extension. However, Brady’s new deal has freed up $15 million in cap room over the next two seasons, which gives Welker and the Pats a little more room to work with. It’s still unclear...

Patriots could reportedly still sign Wes Welker to an extension

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, there’s still a chance teh New England Patriots could sign wide receiver Wes Welker to a contract extension and keep him from hitting the free agent market. Easily the most productive NFL receiver over the past several years, he’s a first-down machine. He’s also, however, a slot receiver, and he’s a little older, making it tougher...

Brandon Lloyd's "erratic behavior" leaves his future as a coin flip

The Boston Globe's Greg Bedard revealed some shocking information in regards to Patriots wide receiver Brandon Lloyd. There have been rumors of the WR's chance of being cut from the team, as the Pats may not feel that Lloyd is worth the additional $3 million bonus that we would make with his $1.9 million base salary, should they chose to keep him. Even with the extra cap...

Wes Welker should thank Tom Brady

So we've just heard the news that Tom Brady signed a contract extension until the 2017 season. The contract is guaranteed for the 2013, 2014, 2015 seasons and not for the last two years when he is 39 and 40-years-old so there is still a chance he could could pull a Peyton Manning. Back to Welker. Before the Brady news broke the rumor went around that Welker was close to signing...

Tom Brady Deal Means Patriots Are Ready to Give Wes Welker Long-Term Contract

No, Tom Brady probably didn’t make Bob Kraft and Bill Belichick give him a secret handshake, promising that if he gave them a few million, they’d turn and sign his buddy, Wes Welker. Sentimental Patriots fans would only like to think that. But that doesn’t mean that Brady restructuring his contract — the second time in a calendar year — wasn’t done with Welker in mind...

Patriots are $25 million under the cap

After giving quarterback Tom Brady a very cap friendly contract extension, the New England Patriots are now $25 million under the cap. Once free agency kicks off on March 12th, things could get interesting.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI...

Report: Patriots Likely to Re-Sign Wes Welker and Aqib Talib, Pursue Dwight Freeney, Ed Reed
