We all know about the ugly break-up. Instead of preparing for the big game in New Orleans exiled 49er Brandon Jacobs is 57 miles away in Houma, Louisiana being celebrated as the king of the parade during festivities in his hometown. Being so close to the game you have to wonder will the ex-49er be in attendance or even watching?  Jacobs told Yahoo Sports that he would be doing neither. “I’m not really going to watch it,” he said. “I am going to be flying. My flight to Atlanta leaves around 4 p.m. and when I land it is going to be halftime, so I am not going to see it, I won’t be watching.” For those of you that were wondering how he feels about missing out on the opportunity to get another Super Bowl ring… “I am not sad,” he said. “I am rooting for the 49ers and want the 49ers to win. The boys have worked too hard not to. I have been there first-hand and seen it for myself. “What happened happened, and I try not to let it bother me and I try not to talk about it. I am going to be back, I am going to be playing football next season, at the knockout level. I want people to know that. “It was just the business part of it, that was why it didn’t work out but I am a free agent again. I am doing the right things and if I have to prove myself all over again to certain people, then that is what I will do. I have been getting ready for next season ever since I got released. I’m not going to stop.” Nice of Jacobs to wish his former team luck and to even say he’s rooting for them, but after all of the trouble being outspoken got him into this season does he mean it or was that the politically correct thing to say.
