The NFL offseason has not necessarily started off in the best of ways. Young stars Reuben Foster and Kareem Hunt have both found themselves on the police blotter after alleged domestic violence incidents involving women. While it’s important to reserve judgement in both cases, it’s just not a good way to start the offseason.

We can now add former Denver Broncos cornerback and Cal standout Syd’Quan Thompson to the growing list. Thompson was arrested in Sacramento over the weekend on domestic violence charges.

“The Sacramento-native, and brother of Carolina Panthers linebacker Shaq Thompson, was arrested in Sacramento County on Feb. 11 for domestic violence. He posted bail at $50,000 on Monday, Feb. 12,” ABC10 in California’s capital city reports.

A seventh-round pick of the Broncos back in 2010, Thompson’s career got off to a tremendous start. He appeared in 13 games and recorded two interceptions as a rookie before a brutal Achilles injury pretty much ended his career during the preseason of his sophomore campaign. Thompson attempted to latch on around the NFL and in the Arena Football League, but it never came to fruition.

Regarding this latest arrest, there are no other details being provided from authorities in Sacramento. But a $50,000 bail seems to suggest the alleged incident was serious.
