The Bucs fourth overall pick in the 1990 NFL draft, Keith McCants has been arrested again in Alabama for drug possession. This is the 12th time McCants has been arrested. Mobile County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Lori Myles said Sunday’s arrest came after McCants, 45, failed to show for a court-ordered appearance in Florida, where he was living. His case was then referred back to the Mobile jurisdiction, where the case originated. “He wasn’t abiding by the rules of the drug court,” Myles said. The former Alabama star and Tampa Bay Buccaneer was arrested Sunday for failing to adhere to conditions set by the court in relation to a 2010 arrest for an attempt to commit a controlled substance crime. Drugs have not been McCants’ only problem since leaving the NFL. McCants was featured in the ESPN documentary Broke, which profiled athletes who went bankrupt after their playing careers. McCants said in the piece that he viewed becoming a millionaire at age 22 as a huge burden. McCants felt having money led him to become an addict and created problems within his family. McCants lasted three seasons with the Buccaneers, and then had short stints with the Houston Oilers and with the Arizona Cardinals before his playing career ended at age 27. hr /> Make sure you follow @cover32_TB and @cover32_NFL on Twitter for all the latest breaking news, columns, blogs and features from the Buccaneers and the entire NFL.
