Alex Webster, one of the top rushers in New York Giants history, died at the age of 80 on Saturday morning.

The cause of death has not been specified, but a report on TCPalm.com indicated that Webster's daughter and family members were by his bedside when he passed.

"Alex was one of the all-time great Giants," team president John Mara said in a statement. "He contributed so much to our team as player, assistant coach and head coach. He was an even better person. We shall miss him dearly."

Webster was inducted into the Giants Ring of Honor in 2011 and is fifth on the club's all-time rushing list. He played in New York from 1955-64 and coached the team from 1969-73.
