San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh acknowledged on KNBR that wide receiver Randy Moss, kicker David Akers, center Jonathan Goodwin, running back Frank Gore and safety Dashon Goldson were all missing from voluntary work outs.
Goldson isn’t participating because he still hasn’t signed his franchise tag. Harbaugh said the others aren’t available because they live out of the area and had family commitments.
I would think that a veteran leader like Gore would be in attendance for the workouts, but I guess it’s not a big deal to him or Harbaugh.
Even though the workouts are “voluntary” teams typically stress that players attend no matter what. But it looks like Harbaugh may be more relaxed about the subject then other coaches.

It looks as if the NFL Shop didn’t inspect the quality of their apparel before throwing items for sale in their store. A twitter follower of ours @4949Centennial pointed out a very major flaw in a new product the NFL Shop put up. On the right sleeve of this 49ers jacket there is an AFC Logo. Last time I checked the 49ers never played in that conference. Maybe they thought the Blue...
The coaching carousel affects every program eventually, but some schools emerge far better off than others. Last year, Stanford saw the tough side of the business, after Jim Harbaugh bolted for San Francisco and took a good chunk of the Cardinal brain trust with him. This offseason, the staff David Shaw built largely survived intact, but the few changes that did occur could impact 2012 and beyond.
We are holding a draft contest this year and the winner of the contest can win a free shirt of their choice from our 49ersNews Fan Shop
Here are the details. Guess the first three picks you think the 49ers will make in the 2012 NFL Draft. The closest person to the right answer will be the winner. In the event of a tie we will randomly select from those who tied.

Chicago Bears fans love their lunch pail guys. I say that and you should immediately know the type; hard-nosed, tough guys, don't get national recognition, guys who play for years, lock down their position but maybe never get Pro-Bowl status. Guys like Big Cat Williams, Hunter Hillenmeyer, Izzy Idonije, Tom Waddle. Well Jared Crick is that type of guy; not explosive or a freak...
