With the lights (mostly) back on and the 49ers ripping off a 17-0 run in the second half, the Ravens looked like they were about to collapse and lose the Super Bowl matchup they had all but won Sunday night. San Francisco couldn’t finish the job, though, and after Baltimore’s defense held firm one more time, the Ravens were the victors. Some people thought the 49ers were lucky to make the 34-31 loss as close as it was — but not the 49ers’ star running back, Frank Gore. He was more in the mood to be the ungracious loser after the game. “They got away with one,” he said, according to The Associated Press. “We showed we were the better team. It was just a couple plays here, a couple plays there.” The 49ers certainly looked like the better team in the second half, when they finally started clicking on both sides of the ball and staged their comeback. But when it mattered most, the 49ers again failed to shut down the Ravens’ Joe Flacco-powered offense, and Colin Kaepernick couldn’t take advantage of defensive holes with his arm or legs. Even with a controversial non-call on a possible pass interference play near the end of the game, San Francisco still botched several chances to take the lead and put the game away. That didn’t seem to faze Gore, though. In what was San Francisco’s first loss ever in a Super Bowl, he seemed less worried about the outcome and more concerned about who was winning that “better team” gold medal.

  • crybaby punk got his assed reemed.
  • Hey dingleberry, they did get reemed by the refs on a couple of no-calls.
  • Spot on Gore. The felons didnt hold thier ground they held the niners shirts, waist and anything they could grab hold of just like ever game they played, ask Denver and the Pats how honest the Felons are. They couldnt win a game honestly if 2 mens lives were at stake. Oh thats right they celebrate murderers on the felons team too. Dirty Teams are as follows Felons #1, Lions#2 and the Saints #3. Everybody in the league knows it and the Felons couldnt win without cheating and almost lost the game dispite paying off the refs to boot. Gore was only telling what everybody already knows about the felons, they are dirty players who couldnt win without cheating. Pathetic losers are the Felons. Watch the game again and watch how that Williams couldnt take Gore down so he punches him while hes on the ground and pushs a ref. Like I said pathetic losers and murderers are what the Felons are. They didnt win anything except disgust from real football fans everywhere.
  • Yeah, yeah, yeah stop whining....you got beat san fran...PERIOD!!! I'll give the nineres credit for making a good comeback, but if they hadn't fallen behind the way they did they wouldn't have been in that situation. When you lose just be professional and give your opponent the credit they deserve. Clay matthews pulled the same BS last year when the Giants beat the Packers saying the Giants didn't win but instead the Packers beat themselves...what a crock of shiit!! It was gratifying to see jim harblow get beat because he's a classless jackasss. And the niners even got away with an offensive and a defensive pass interference call in this game but still LOST ANYWAY. Shaddup crybabies!!!!
  • Someday I hope to be a "real" football fan like you FAYEMAC. Quit your whining about calls in the Super Bowl. **NEWSFLASH** - the refs weren't calling **** either way. I hope Frank grabbed his binky on his way out of the stadium for the plane ride home. Best case in point about the refs not calling anything against your boys...the hit on Flacco 5 YARDS out of bounds. And the final play that all you 40whiner fans are crying about (1) you get 5 yards to jamb the receiver at the line (2) Crabtree hand his left hand on the defenders helmet and was pushing off and finally (3) there was probably also defensive pass interference but as I've coached many players over the years "it's only a foul if it gets called, don't play cheap but if the ref isn't calling something use it until they do". BTW...it would've been a non-issue if you boys "Championship Caliber Defense"(apparently not) hadn't given away so many early points. You're right the RAVENS cheated and the refs were on the take. Whatever helps you sleep.
