Chris Canty is a Charlotte native and was released by the Giants earlier this month where he played from 2009 to 2012 and was a key member of the Super Bowl winning team last season.
When asked about what the future holds he said would love the chance to be a Panther and Thomas Davis sent him a text that said its time for you to come home, CBS Charlotte reports.
Chris did not see his release from the Giants coming and was caught off guard.
He said he would be willing to take a hometown discount to play for the Panthers. He wants the chance to win another championship and the Panthers have a chance moving going forward with Cam Newton as the QB.
