No surprises on today’s injury report….. DE Osi Umenyiora (ankle, knee), TE Jake Ballard (knee) and LB Mark Herzlich (ankle) have been ruled out of tomorrow’s game vs the Jets. WR Mario Manningham (knee) has not practiced all week and is doubtful. RB DJ Ware (knee) is questionable. For the Jets, RB/KR Joe McKnight (shoulder/elbow) and CB Marquice Cole (knee) are listed as questionable. The Giants were forced to switch hotels for this week, because the home team – the Jets – had it booked. The two teams share the hotel, except in cases like this. Tom Coughlin told Michael Eisen of Giants.com that the players were treating this week like a road game. “We’re here. We’re home. We’re playing in the same stadium. It’s the Jets’ home game. It will be treated… we documented this in our literature for the players, it’s a road game. We’re on the road. I’ve had crowd noise all through practice. We’ve done all of those things.” CB Prince Amukamura is using last week’s benching as mot

Jets' playbook cover features a bloody Eli Manning

When the teams met in preseason last year, the Jets bloodied Giants QB Eli Manning, so to inspire his players for the rematch, Rex Ryan put photos of a bleeding Manning on the cover of the team's playbooks.

Jets Using Photo Of Eli Manning Being Sacked As Playbook Cover

Eli Manning is the new cover boy of the New York Jets defensive playbook for this week's crucial game against the New York Giants. The photograph of Manning being sacked by the Jets— right before blood started dripping from a three-inch gash in his forehead— is being used to motivate the Jets defense by putting a subtle bull's-eye on the opposing quarterback's head...

Eli Manning's work ethic second to none

The weekly ritual begins on Monday evening, when Giants quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan sends the first batch of faxes to Eli Manning's home. It continues every day thereafter, as Sullivan sends over the plays that Manning will work on the following afternoon in practice.

Giants top Jets, stay alive in NFC hunt

Eli Manning's Giants won the Battle of New York -- and maybe a playoff spot, too. The Giants beat the Jets 29-14 to set up a Week 17 rematch with the Cowboys for the NFC East title.

Practice report: Manningham, Umenyiora lead biking gang

Antrel Rolle won't be happy about this.  Just two days before the much-hyped Battle of New York, a boatload of Giants did not seem to be in action during the media portion of practice.  Osi Umenyiora (ankle), Mario Manningham (knee), Ahmad Bradshaw (foot), Mark Herzlich (ankle), Jake ...

Giants will be short-handed Saturday

The Giants started this season with the roster badly injured. Whether they make the playoffs or not, they are going to finish the season that way too. They face the Jets on Saturday without linebacker Mark Herzlich, defensive end Osi Umenyiora, and tight end Jake Ballard. Wide receiver Mario Manningham is doubtful, while running back…

Redskins secondary aims to continue interception upswing

Washington Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett and his defensive backs have said all season that interceptions come in bunches and if they continued to do their jobs effectively, eventually they would experience a breakthrough. The Redskins finally had that day last week against the New York Giants, when they intercepted Eli Manning a season’s-best three times. Cornerbacks...

Giants' second guess

A pass on first-and-10 from the 20 after a big turnover in the fourth quarter is just asking for trouble, and the Giants got it when it was picked off by David Harris. It was the kind of call that made most fans want to slug Kevin Gilbride, but the Giants had actually called a running play and Eli Manning changed it to a pass when the Jets loaded the box. Tom Coughlin said it could...
