Garrett believes he’s a better coach after ‘learning a ton of things’

IRVING – Jason Garrett says he “learned a ton of things” in his first full season as an NFL head coach. The Cowboys finished 8-8 and out of the playoffs after losing Sunday’s NFC East title game 31-14 to the New York Giants. Garrett is 13-11 since taking over from Wade Phillips at midseason last year. “I’ve learned a ton of things – as a head coach, as an offensive coordinator, as a play caller, as someone who relates to coaches and players and everybody,” Garrett said. “I could go down a huge list. It’s hard for me to pick out the number ones. It’s a little bit like my favorite color type of question – for me. But I’ve learned a lot of things.” Presumably, one of those thing is how to manage the clock better.
