After being decimated by injury, the G-Men are desperate for help at receiver. With the pickings so slim, who better to pursue than recently retired headcase future Hall of Famer, Randy Moss? It’s not as improbable as you may think.

According to the New York Daily News, Giants general manager Jerry Reese appears to be considering all of his available options, and wouldn’t rule out giving the 34-year-old Moss a call.

“We investigate everything,” Reese said following practice Thursday afternoon. “He (Moss) hasn’t been in our building so it would be unfair to make an evaluation of him. We don’t really know him. He’s a terrific receiver as we’ve seen from his time in the league. Our offense is predicated on reads, which is hard for some guys to pick up. But it’s not something that a veteran like him would have trouble with.”

Up to this point, New York lost Domenik Hixon (torn ACL) for the season and Mario Manningham (concussion) for the time being. They need an able-bodied player in the receiving corps, prompting the Daily News to label Moss as an ideal fit.

But, assuming Reese isn’t just doing his due diligence and the interest is genuinely there, the feeling between Moss needs to be mutual if he’s going to become a new weapon of quarterback Eli Manning.

Considering his recent stance, that’s probably not be the case.
