Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora is not optimistic about the team giving him the contract extension he seeks, that is keeping him on edge, wondering if the Giants will trade him during the draft. Umenyiora is about to enter the final year of his contract that will pay him around $4 million next season. The Giants have players younger then Umenyiora such as Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks, Jason Pierre-Paul and Justin Tuck who will be looking for more money in the near future and Umenyiora does not feel that giving him a new contract is a priority for the Giants. Giant defensive end Osi Umenyiora said he thinks the Giants might choose to trade him during the draft, and he's losing sleep as the uncertainty mounts. (AP Photo) “It’s a business, I understand their perspective,” Umenyiora said in New York on Wednesday, promoting the NFL Play 60 Youth Football for Xbox 360 Kinect. Umenyiora said he thinks the Giants could opt to trade him this weekend during the draft, but he would prefer to stay and sign an extension. “I love the Giants,” Umenyiora said. “Would I want to (stay with the Giants)? I think that would be ideal. I think I would if things could be worked out. Next year if I leave, they won’t get anything. So if they are going to do it (trade him), now would be the best time.”

New York Giants Mock Draft 2012: How a Possible Osi Umenyiora Trade Shakes Up the NYG Draft

Al Bello/Getty Images Now that they're done kissing the Lombardi trophy, all the New York Giants are left with is poor draft position. The knowledge that their first-round pick will be a second-round talent can at least be alleviated with shiny rings.  Despite their status as the NFL's defending champs, the Giants have plenty of holes to fill,...

Osi Umenyiora Trade Value: Potential New Teams

I am going to go over some of the teams I think will have an interest in trading for Osi Umenyiora.  As far as value is concerned, Osi holds the Value of a 2nd round pick. However; if a team drafts very high NY might throw in some additional picks to sweeten the pot. Conditional picks are also a strong possibility as I think Osi would be a walk on starter on most of these teams...

Osi Umenyiora: Giants should trade me now

Defensive end Osi Umenyiora believes the New York Giants won’t be able to give him the contract he’s been looking for.   He thinks that if the Giants are going to let him walk in free agency after this coming season, they may as well trade him now and get something in return. “Would I want to (stay)? I think it would be ideal,” said Umenyiora per ESPNNewYork.com. “I think...

New York Giants select David Wilson, Grace B-

I have to wonder if the New York Giants were prepared to take Doug Martin and panicked when the Bucs moved up and landed him with the 31st pick. David Wilson is a decent prospect, who I gave a 2nd-round grade, but I’m not excited about how he fits in New York. As long as he holds on to the football he’ll be a quality running back, but just doesn’t project as a difference maker...

Eli Manning says "I’m still the third most-talked-about quarterback in my own city.”

Eli Manning is obviously feeling a certain kind of way in regards to all of the hype surrounding the “other” QBs in his city. Manning participated at an event at his former college Ole Miss and sarcastically poked fun at the consistent chatter about the New York Jets Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez. Dre Kirkpatrick could end up falling to the Giants

According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, Alabama cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick is sliding down the first round of tomorrow’s draft. Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger, confirmed Florio’s report and indicated that the Giants believe they have a shot at landing Kirkpatrick. Art Stapleton said that Kirkpatrick has stated that he wouldn’t be upset he ended up getting...

Titans In Trade Talks For Giants DE Osi Umenyiora?

Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean tweets that there’s “some buzz” that the Titans could be working on a deal for Giants DE Osi Umenyiora. Wyatt adds, ”don’t get your hopes up,” but there’s a chance that things could progress depending on the Giants asking price and urgency to deal him. You’d have to think any deal for Umenyiora you most likely take place in the coming...

Giants sign defensive tackle Rogers

Hours before the NFL Draft, the New York Giants added depth to their defensive line signing tackle Shaun Rogers. The Super Bowl champions announced the signing of the 12-year veteran on Thursday. A three-time Pro Bowler, Rogers spent last season with the New Orleans Saints, starting four games and making 22 tackles. He also has played with Detroit and Cleveland. Rogers has played...

In Jerry We Trust

This title reflects the mentality of most fans of the defending Super Bowl Champion NY Giants. GM Jerry Reese has done a stellar job winning three NFC East titles along with two Super Bowl Championships.  He has drated exceptionally well, been wise with free agent signings, and, as mentioned, built two Super Bowl winners. That is why most Giants fans, myself included, believe Jerry...

Giants sign DT Shaun Rogers

The New York Giants announced the signing of free agent defensive tackle Shaun Rogers on their Twitter page. I’m not sure how much football Rogers has left in him. He was clearly brought in, in order to add depth to the Giants defensive line. There’s no way he’ll start ahead of Chris Canty or Linval Joseph after a disappointing season in 2011. This past season with the...

Giants Select Virginia Tech RB David Wilson (Rd.1, No.32)

With the 32nd overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select Virginia Tech RB David Wilson. Wilson is an electrifying runner who opted to come out early after an incredible junior year in which he was named ACC Player of the Year. He truly runs with his own style, and it's obvious that he has a love for the game. He is a high-risk, high-reward player who loves...
