Jon Gruden gushed over the ‘pistol’ offense run by the Washington Redskins and more specifically Robert Griffin III. It was said that college option offenses just won’t work in the NFL; the defenses are just too fast. Well, if the quarterback is faster, then the equation changes the entire scenario. Monday night the New York Giants defense didn’t have an option, they had to deal with RG3 and they are still trying to figure out what hit them. Griffin III had 163 yards passing, 72 rushing, 1 touchdown, and a quarterback rating of 101.9. He did a little bit of everything including frying Justin Tuck’s brain. “You can play well against them. We could’ve played better, but as far as shutting them down.
