This morning, Giants quarterback Eli Manning watched the film of the Eagles-Raiders game and insisted his eyes didn’t light up with anticipation as he saw Eagles quarterback Nick Foles have a record-setting day. Manning said having the same success against the Raiders secondary by simply running the same plays or targeting the same players that Foles did isn’t a given. Foles threw an NFL single-game record-tying seven touchdowns in the Eagles’ stunning 49-20 victory on Sunday in Oakland. “You have to run your offense,” said Manning, who’ll face the Raiders on Sunday at MetLife Stadium. “You can’t just look at a play they (the Eagles) ran and say, ‘Oh, we have to run this play.’ You might get a different defense, you might get a different response. “You have to run the plays that you’re comfortable with, that you know how to execute no matter what coverage or defense you get you’re going to be prepared for.” Foles completed 22 of 28 passes for 406 yards, seven touchdowns and no

Denver Broncos at San Diego Chargers: 2013 Week 10 NFL Pick

Denver Broncos (7-1) at San Diego Chargers (4-4) Dominant teams usually play very well off of a bye. Since 2002, road favorites of 3.5 or more are 29-8 ATS since 2002, including 12-1 ATS in a divisional game. This makes sense. Dominant teams are better suited to using an extra week off. Peyton Manning, for instance, is 9-1 ATS off of a regular season bye since 2004, in his last 10...

The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly: Recapping The Birds

Well, this was unexpected. Nick Foles put on his Peyton Manning costume and went out to the Oakland coliseum and tied an NFL record, throwing for seven touchdowns. Wow. It would be too easy for me to list the offense as a whole as good. They were great. Foles spread the ball around to all his weapons and was able to lead the Eagles down the field with ease. The game would not be...
