Mitch Ross made a surprise appearance in New Orleans on Friday, apologizing to all the athletes that he and his punchline of a supplement firm, S.W.A.T.S., have hurt this week.
Except now, he needs to issue another apology, to Steve Weatherford. In the latest chapter of the strangest saga of Super Bowl XLVI, Ross wearing a sleeveless shirt and showcasing his now-infamous deer antler spray held an impromptu press conference. And midway through, he claimed he provided Weatherford with performance chips, unique (and useless) performance-boosting holograms.
Weatherford denied Ross' off-the-wall claims and added that hes contacted legal counsel regarding his (Ross) slanderous statements.
Ive never even met Mitch Ross, Weatherford told the News. Total bogus. This guy is scrounging for something.
