The New York Giants traded up in the fourth round to grab Syracuse quarterback Ryan Nassib with the 110th overall pick. The team now has a viable backup to Eli Manning, adefinite upgrade over David Darr. GM Jerry Reese remarked: "If he doesn't ever play, that would be great;  That's a good problem to have. If he needs to play, we're hoping that whatever time that is that he'll be up and ready to go." Nassib’s stock went soaring when ESPN analyst Jon Gruden called him the "best quarterback in the 2013 NFL Draft." Nassib was named to Pro Football Weekly's All-American team and was given the starting slot. For the last two seasons, Pro Football Weekly's All-American quarterback was last year's No. 1 NFL Draft selection Andrew Luck. The Positive: Nassib does a solid job of moving around the pocket and feels the pass-rush around him. He won’t win any awards for athleticism, yet sometimes can tuck and run when the pressure is too intense. When flushed, he keeps his eyes up-field. Short compact throwing motion when able to set his feet and deliver the ball. Good intangibles, and was the Orangemen's true leader as a senior. The Negative: Locks onto his primary read and needs to be able to work the entire field more consistently. Has a tendency to force the ball in tight coverage due to not surveying the field.  More Videostat Profiles
