You know who must be miserable this morning? People that have to work an eight hour shift on Christmas Eve and the Dallas Cowboys. You just have to beat the Saints to pretty much wrap up the NFC East and you can’t. Now it’ll take a win – on the road – over the Redskins for the Cowboys to win the division. There are tie breaker rules involved, too, but the Cowboys have that covered. According to ESPN: If the Cowboys win, they and the Redskins will both be 9-7. The first tiebreaker is head-to-head record, and they would be 1-1 against each other. The second tiebreaker is record within the division, and they would each be 4-2 against NFC East opponents. The third tiebreaker is record in games played against common opponents, and that’s where the Cowboys would win it. They and the Redskins have 12 common-opponent games, and the Cowboys are 8-4 in those while the Redskins are 7-5. The Cowboys beat the Steelers, Bengals and Panthers — all of whom beat the Redskins — while the Redskins beat the Saints and the Ravens, who beat Dallas. If the Cowboys lose, Jerry Jones will fire Jason Garrett on Jan. 2 and hire Andy Reid by Jan. 10. Of course that’s just a guestimate on the coaching change. By the way, Goose wins the sweater-off. (@coldinbuffalo)   As for the Giants, they’ll need an insane miracle to make the playoffs. It goes something like this, according to the NY Daily News. They’ll need a win over the Eagles, a loss or tie by the Cowboys and losses by the Bears and Vikings. Which leads us to the NY Post covers. From winning the Super Bowl, to this.   ESPN Odds & Ends: What is LeBron James going to league?   Finally, WTF is this Colts fan smiling about? What an asshole. Aren’t you thinking of Pagano? Chuckstrong. The playoffs? Total scumbag. Filed under: Football
