Left Tackle, Jason Peters: Peters is not quite as bad as you may think this season. Yes, I’m still worried that he will go down as the $60 million dollar bust. But he’s ranked as the 15th best offensive tackle in the NFL (out of 71), according to Pro Football Focus. He’s been brilliant on run blocking and average on pass blocking. Peters has allowed two sacks this season, which is about average for a tackle. He needs to cut down on his penalties though, as he’s committed four already this season. And his health is a concern, as he is returning from arthroscopic knee surgery.
Grade: B-
Left Tackle, King Dunlap: The King is the 31st best offensive tackle in the NFL, which is actually better than average. His weakness is pass blocking, where he allowed three sacks this season (all in the same game). He is a good run blocker (20th best in the NFL). However, Dunlap has played in just 212 snaps this season, mostly during Peters’ injury, so his -2.4 efficiency rating is a cause for concern...
