A new film from NFL Films releases today. Two Minutes to Glory focuses on some of the great comebacks in NFL History, and not surprisingly the Colts feature prominently. The movie is over 100 minutes long and includes most of the truly memorable drives in NFL history. I was especially glad to see my all time favorite non-Colts game included. There was great stuff from the epic Montana/Elway showdown on Monday Night Football from the 90s on there. That was the single best NFL game I've ever seen not involving my team. The Indianapolis Colts merited four major segments. Of course, they covered the Tampa Bay miracle, heavily. "Fourth and Two" also got a lot of attention. Unfortunately, there is a whole chapter on the Patriots which includes a segment on the Willie McGinest game, though his 'injury' was not noted at all. The collection of clips is fairly comprehensive, and had seen every game after 1985 live. The two minute drill is the on thing you never, ever...

Luck and Manning planning?

The stars are aligning for Andrew Luck and Peyton Manning to be able to dictate terms to the Colts to ensure their individual and mutual interests are addressed due to the likelihood that they'll be represented by the same agency: The plan between Peyton and Andrew, if there is one, remains unknown.  Peyton could try to force his way out of Indianapolis, for example by refusing...

Will He or Won't He? Solving the Peyton Manning Puzzle for 2012

Will He or Won’t He: Solving the Peyton Manning puzzle for 2012 It is important for everyone to understand how amazing the mind of Peyton Manning is, there have been many quarterbacks to come through the NFL but none as cerebral as Manning. It is fact that Manning has not had the best postseasons but he is a Super Bowl winner and he is a Super Bowl MVP. Before he reached...

Week 15 – TEN @ IND: Game Day Open Thread

INACTIVES QB Peyton Manning -  Manning has been getting some good news lately, but still not ready to take the field.  (Neck) TE Dallas Clark -  Clark suffered a stinger and had to be replaced by Jacob Tamme on the Colt’s final drive last week.  He will be out this week as a result (Neck) [...]

Colts' Manning takes snaps; not cleared to play

The Colts will have to win their last two games the same way they tried to win their first 14 -- without Peyton Manning.

Colts' Manning getting better, but won't practice this season

The health of Peyton Manning's neck is improving, but the Colts star won't participate in team practices the rest of the season.

Ticker: Tebow gets a yeah; Peyton Manning just a maybe

Peyton Manning and Tim Tebow -- now, who got a vote of confidence and who didn't? "Tim Tebow's not going anywhere," John Elway told the Associated Press. "I mean, he's going to be a Bronco and we're going to do everything we can and hopefully he's that guy."

Colts QB Situation Turning into a Soap Opera

Over the last decade or so, an effective way to spot a lazy editor or writer has been if they use the phrase “Peyton’s Place” when referring to Peyton Manning. It’s lazy because it was a bad metaphor. See, the original Peyton Place was a novel, movie, then TV show (all of them spectacularly popular) that portrayed the countless wild and sordid goings-on in a seemingly normal...

Manning confirms reports he threw in pads last week

Peyton Manning confirmed a report by Jay Glazer of Fox Sports that he threw to Colts running backs and receivers last week after practice and that he still wants to play this year.

Colts must make the tough decision

In less than two months, a great confederacy of whores (literal and figurative), and journalists (I use the term advisedly) will descend upon Indianapolis, where we will wonder in unison: "Why the ---- are we here?" I have nothing against the town, merely the idea of wintering there (having already done it once, covering Mike Tyson's rape trial, I feel entitled to...

Wayne's streak in jeopardy

Reggie Wayne was set to join NFL receiving royalty with another 1,000 yard season.  That all changed with Manning's injury: The string of 1,000-yard seasons, though, is in serious jeopardy. The absence of Peyton Manning and resulting revolving door and inconsistency at quarterback too often has rendered the passing game impotent. Overall, the Colts have run the fewest offensive...

Colts RB Joseph Addai Impressed After Catching Passes From Peyton Manning

Joseph Addai knows this much about Peyton Manning's recovery: His right arm is getting stronger. Addai was one of three Colts players catching passes last week from the four-time league MVP. On Wednesday, he told The Associated Press that Manning is putting some zip on his short passes. "He's not throwing deep-level passes, but the short stuff is really good enough to...

Christmas Comes Early, Colts Get a Win

Christmas has come early as the Indianapolis Colts have avoided the unthinkable by beating the Tennessee Titans this Sunday. Only two NFL teams have ever gone win-less, the Detroit Lions (0-16) in 2008 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1978 (0-14). After a neck injury to Peyton Manning left them struggling at the quarterback position, the the Colts have looked...
