The Green Bay Packers got awful news Sunday night as sources are now reporting that left tackle Bryan Bulaga will miss the entire 2013 season with a torn ACL. He injured the knee early in Saturday night’s intra-squad scrimmage but didn’t miss a play. He later complained of discomfort in the locker room and was checked out by trainers. The 24-year-old Bulaga has played right tackle for the past three seasons, but was moved to the left side in hopes that he could finally be the answer on quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ blind side. Now the team will likely have to shift Marshall Newhouse back to the left side and potentially try fourth-round pick David Bakhtiari on the right side. Newhouse started every game at left tackle last season, but he struggled mightily during the campaign. ProFootballFocus graded him as the 54th overall tackle in the NFL last year. That’s awful news for Rodgers and the Packers. Derek Sherrod will likely get a shot at one of the starting tackle spots now as well. Rodgers was sacked an NFL-high 51 times in 2012, a gigantic number that must improve if the Packers hope to win in 2013. The loss of Bulaga is huge, especially given the fact that Green Bay hasn’t done a whole lot to address its offensive line woes. Some combination of Newhouse, Sherrod, Bakhtiari and Don Barclay will have to do at the tackle spots for now, since it’s probably too late for the team to add anyone worthwhile to that mix. Rodgers’ job for the upcoming season just got a whole lot tougher. The post Green Bay Packers: Bryan Bulaga has torn ACL, will miss 2013 season appeared first on Midwest Sports Fans.
