Transcript excerpts of former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams' testimony have been leaked, accoding to the Associated Press.
In it, Williams claimed that assistant head coach Joe Vitt wanted to keep the program going and Williams wanted to stop it.
According to Williams, Vitt said that Commissioner Roger Goodell “wasn’t going to . . . tell us to . . . stop doing what won us the Super Bowl,” he said in the AP report, via ProFootBallTalk.com. "...and that “[t]his has been going on in the . . . National Football League forever, and it will go on here forever, when they run [me] out of there, it will still go on.”
So big bad Joe Vitt nixed William's suggestion as poor Gregg tried to stop such a bad thing.
Sounds like a load crap from Williams, who's looking to place blame on someone else to save his own butt. It sounds almost like a little kid caught red handed and pointing to his friend saying "he made me do it."
Especially for the fact that at the time, Williams was DC and Vitt was merely a linerbackers coach.
