It’s only logical in this age of salary cap football that teams can’t bring all their free agents back. During this offseason, it appears the Ravens won’t be able to bring Pro Bowl left guard Ben Grubbs back. There are several reasons Baltimore can’t bring him back even if they want to. By the way, they clearly want to. At the State of the Ravens address last week, Ozzie Newsome said, “Ben has two major factors that we like: he’s a really good player, and he’s young. So as we start to put together the 53-man squad going into 2012, we will factor those things in. But what we also have to factor in what will (re-signing Grubbs) keep us from not getting and what would that us to have to get rid of in order to keep (him). And that’s the balance that we’ll have to deal with going forward.” The top reason they will have trouble bringing Grubbs back is his price. Some team would love to have a Pro Bowl left guard. They would also pay him a handsome sum of money to play for them. Baltimore...
