New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks was a guest on Chris McClain and Jim Celania on WFNZ in Charlotte (via SportsRadioInterviews.com) and was asked if he’ll be ready for next month’s training camp after suffering a broken foot at the end of May.
“Definitely making training camp,” said Nicks. “I started running about two weeks [ago] but the coaches don’t really want me to force the issue right now so I still haven’t started running yet. They want me to just take my time with it — they feel like that’s what’s best. So right now I’m just taking my time with it. … But I’ll definitely be ready for the season.”
Nicks was asked if his foot is in a cast of walking boot.
“No, I’m not in nothing no more,” replied Nicks.
I’m sure the Giants aren’t worried about Nicks being ready for camp. I think they want to make sure he gets back to being 100% healthy for the regular season.

What about other players – those that really aren’t even at an imminent...

As much as backup quarterback is an overlooked position in New York (in blue anyway), it is an ever-important role.

Little has changed since I first wrote that Chase Blackburn was the Giants’ starting middle linebacker going into training camp back in mid May.
Now there’s more confirmation that Blackburn will start over newly acquired Keith Rivers. While it needs to be noted that Rivers is looking good so far this offseason, Blackburn will be able to start at the position he...

Eli Manning still doesn’t get enough respect around the NFL. The New York Giants quarterback, who wasn’t even ranked last year’s in NFL’s Top 100, was ranked only No. 31. This caused an outrage for fans, who thought he should have at least been placed in the top 10.

Michael Strahan Calls Teams' Treatment Of DE Osi Umenyiora 'Flat-Out' Robbery
Michael Strahan would not have showed up for work if the New York Giants had offered him what they finally used to settle a contract showdown with Osi Umenyiora. Another Look at New York Giants Super Bowl Rings
As most of us know the New York Giants won the 2011 NFL Super Bowl. The Giants won the NFC East as well with a surprisingly mediocre record of 9-7. Expectations were extremely high for linebacker Keith Rivers when he was drafted in the first round (9th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. Unfortunately for Rivers, that didn't happen and a wide range of injuries have...
