Dan Arkush of Pro Football Weekly writes today that Rams DE James Hall is going to do whatever it takes to be a mentor for rookie Robert Quinn.

Don’t underestimate the influence of Rams veteran DE James Hall in the development of rookie Robert Quinn, a great natural talent who probably has more to learn at the pro level than most of his first-round counterparts after sitting out his final year in college because of an NCAA-imposed suspension. The way we hear it, the Rams wouldn’t mind at all if Quinn and Hall, who is coming off the best overall season of his 11-year career (team-leading 10½ sacks, career-high six forced fumbles), become attached at the hip in a manner of speaking — both on and off the field.

“They will not expose Quinn on run downs, but I see him playing right end in most passing situations — which would get him on the field 50-60 percent of the time — with Hall sliding inside,” one daily team observer said. ” ‘Spags’ (head coach Steve Spagnuolo) loves having as many disruptive ends on the field as possible. That was his claim to fame with the Giants.”
