27-year old NT Halota Ngata is a mountain of a man at 6’4″, 330 pounds and he sits right in the middle of the Ravens’ D.  Ngata has been a force this year for the Ravens as he has been a big time playmaker.  Ngata has played in 9 games for the Ravens so far this year and he has 41 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 tackles for a loss, 2 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries and 2 passes defensed.  He has now played in 87 games in his first six years with the Ravens and he has 288 tackles, 15 sacks, 21 tackles for a loss, 4 forced fumbles, 5 fumble recoveries, 3 interceptions and 16 passes defensed.  Most NTs don’t make the impact plays that Ngata makes and that doesn’t even consider how he plays against the run, demanding double teams and keeping the LBs clean to make plays.

The Ray Rice Factor

I am a fan, I’m not a coach. I possess a lot of football knowledge but I have actually never even played a down of organized football in my life (soccer was my fall sport). My knowledge about this gridiron game should never be even in the same ballpark as that of a professional NFL coach or coordinator. Unfortunately, it seems that with a certain coach in Baltimore, it is. Once...

Gerry Sandusky, Baltimore Ravens Announcer, Is Not Related To The Alleged Pederast

Besides feeling awful for the children (think of the children!) whose lives were forever scarred by a demented pervert, I kind of feel bad for the same-named people in the world who have also had their family name somewhat tarnished. It happened in the Casey Anthony case and it's happening with Baltimore Ravens' radio announcer Gerry Sandusky, whose name is close enough that...

Ravens week-to-week flip flop perplexes Harbaugh

The Baltimore Ravens' most glaring weakness could cost them an opportunity to utilize their strongest quality in the playoffs. They are flawed on the road and perfect at home. While the Ravens are desperate to earn home-field advantage in the postseason, almost every time they take a step in that direction, they subsequently get knocked back. One week after stepping into first...

Ravens’ Special Teams Play the Difference in 22-17 Loss to Seattle

In the Baltimore Ravens’ shocking 22-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink Field Sunday, the special teams unit was pitiful to say the least, and was the major reason why the team suffered their third letdown of the season. The Ravens, now 7-3, have suffered all three of their losses after significant wins. Sunday’s [...]

Will The Real Baltimore Ravens Please Stand Up?

The Baltimore Ravens are full of surprises this year, including definitive losses at Tennessee, Jacksonville, and Seattle. What does it mean that this team is so different from Ravens teams of years past?

Bengals-Ravens Preview

The Baltimore Ravens have piled up some big wins this season, knocking off the only two AFC teams with records superior to their own - including a season sweep of their most bitter rival. That's what makes it all the more difficult to explain their failures against some of the league's lightweights. That class no longer includes the Cincinnati Bengals, who will try to keep...

Bengals defense will cause trouble for Ravens
