Julius Peppers has been MIA this year, and I don’t mean Miami. Peppers has been so ineffective and non-existent in the Chicago Bears defense that even the homers who masquerade as journalists on the local Fox affiliate called him out last night. Yes, it’s been that bad for Julius Peppers this season. Fox obviously has broadcasting deals with the Bears: the game rights most of the time, the Sunday night show hosting the Bears radio guys, and then even a program, “Inside the Bears” that is produced and manufactured by the Bears organization itself. Therefore, if you hear Bears negativity on that station, you know it really means something. Because their broadcasters are homers 90% of the time. However, there’s no sugarcoating Julius Peppers, who’s obviously not healthy. Of course, all NFL and college football coaches lie about injuries, so we don’t really know. On all levels of football, the teams never tell you anything about player injuries. And the Bears are a more secretive and r...

Brandon Marshall frustrated with his role in offense

Brandon Marshall was focused on his own demeanor. He was judging himself by how he handled himself on the sideline Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. And Marshall said he felt proud about how he composed himself during the Bears’ 26-18 loss at Soldier Field. ‘‘Sorry for patting myself on the back’’ Marshall said. ‘‘There’s not too much that I can hang my hat...

Brandon Marshall Says Alshon Jeffery Could Be Best WR Ever

The Bears lost to the Saints on Sunday, but may have finally their second option to Brandon Marshall at the receiver position. Alshon Jeffery struggled at times as a rookie but clearly has grown into a man in his second season.  The former South Carolina Gamecock had a franchise record 218 yards on ten catches one of which was for a TD. Bears star Brandon Marshall was full of praise...

Alshon Jeffery Goes Wild On Saints

Week 5 Recap – “Losing Our Patience”

Okay – I’m taking a break from putting together a heady, well-structured game recap to respond to this week’s game and the state of the Bears in general simply from the point of view of a fan, which I am first and foremost. The Bears are 3-2, and still tied atop the NFC North. They’ve lost two straight games by single digits to good teams. Jay Cutler is still en route to...

Will the Bears Clobber the Giants? Five Bold Predictions

All the Twitter backlash of QB Jay Cutler and his inability to hold the ball is irrelevant to the 358 yards passing, 2 touchdowns and passer rating of 128.1, with NO interceptions.  There were numerous balls dropped, one of which was an in-the-money catch that WR Earl Bennett let bounce off his chest.  The double coverage on WR Brandon Marshall forced Cutler to move the ball around...

Bears Injury Report: Stephen Paea, Martellus Bennett, Brandon Marshall

The Bears are running very thin at the defensive tackle position. Coming into Sunday's game, the team had been forced to place Henry Melton on Injured Reserve. They will now also be without Stephen Paea, who missed practice all week with a toe injury. Without both Melton and Paea, the Bears defensive front will be a weakspot for the team. Nate Collins and Landon Cohen, both...

Chicago Bears vs New York Giants: Horrible Thursday Night Football

Everyone knows that the ‘Thursday Night Football’ game is a nice link between Monday and Sunday games, but produces cringe-worthy television. Chicago and New York are fortunate enough to get their mandatory mid-week game out of the way early. Both teams head into their night tilt looking at was has gone wrong more than what has gone right. The Bears have lost two straight games...

New York Giants at Chicago Bears: 2013 Week 6 NFL Pick

New York Giants (0-5) at Chicago Bears (3-2) Ordinarily, Chicago would be the easy choice in this situation. The home team also usually covers on Thursday Night Football, because, on a short week, you need all the time you can get to prepare and having to travel puts you at a disadvantage. The home team is especially advantaged when they are favored and in a non-divisional matchup...
