Oakland rookie cornerback D.J. Hayden has never played against Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning. He figures the two will become well-acquainted Monday night in Denver.
Hayden is the youngest and least experienced member of the Raiders' defensive secondary, and that has made him a target for opposing quarterbacks.
Indianapolis' Andrew Luck sought him out repeatedly in the opener, and Jacksonville's Chad Henne followed suit in going after the first-round draft pick multiple times last week.
In Manning, Hayden and the Raiders (1-1) face an entirely different type of challenge altogether.
Denver's quarterback has already thrown for more yards and touchdowns without an interception in two games than any player in NFL history.

Ryan Clady being out for the season hurts, but remember who they have under center. No quarterback protects their own blindside better than Peyton Manning. He thrived with a group of nobodies at left tackle in Indianapolis and he’ll be fine without Clady in Denver. They should still cruise through a very weak (at least at the top) AFC. His absence will be a bigger...
Peyton Manning plans to catch Todd Helton's final home game for the Colorado Rockies next week so he can pay homage to his college buddy who gave him two big assists over the years.
The first came when Manning was a homesick freshman at the University of Tennessee in 1994 and Helton, already a star in both football and baseball, took him under his wing and helped him adjust...
Peyton Manning is submitting his name for BFF of the Year.
The Denver Broncos signal caller will be preparing for a Monday night matchup against the Raiders next week, but he’s taking some time out to support one of his good friends. Rockies first baseman Todd Helton announced in September that he would be retiring from Major League Baseball after 17 years with the team, and his...

Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Adrian Peterson had different injuries than Robert Griffin III, and they were on different timelines and in different situations, etc. They’re different players, and, like all people everywhere, each is a precious snowflake.
Also, two games is a small sample size, I know, but that’s what we have to work with when analyzing post-devastation RGIII...
The Denver Broncos' excitement over their scorching start is tempered by a serious injury to All-Pro left tackle Ryan Clady and the specter of being without Peyton Manning's protector on the blindside for a lengthy time.
Clady might miss the rest of the season or at least a good chunk of it with a sprained left foot.
While the team hasn't specified the exact nature...
Peyton Manning‘s blindside just become much more vulnerable.
Broncos left tackle Ryan Clady, who was diagnosed with a Lisfranc sprain in his left foot after Sunday’s game, will be placed on injured reserve and miss the remainder of the 2013 season, according to NFL.com.
Clady, 28, is a two-time first-team All Pro, making his absence a huge loss for Manning and the Broncos. He...
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning wont have All-Pro left tackle Ryan Clady protecting his blind side for the rest of the 2013 season. Clady will have season-ending surgery on his left foot, according to
Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey is hopeful he’ll be ready to play Monday night against the Oakland Raiders.
Bailey said he’s not 100 percent.
“But I’m definitely close,” he said after Friday’s practice via the team’s website. “Very close.”
