Marques Murrell, one of the Patriots under-the-radar signings of the offseason, made his first appearance in front of the media today. The special teamer and linebacker wasn’t tendered by the Jets, but he seems pretty thrilled with where he landed.
“Very happy,” Murrell said. “I was very excited, honestly. There’s a lot of tradition here. I like playing for a team with a lot of tradition, especially deep-rooted in Super Bowls themselves. (It’s great) just to have that ability to be on a team and make it to the playoffs.”
Murrell’s brother Adrian is a former Jets running back. Interestingly, Marques said his brother supported the decision to arrive in New England.
