PITTSBURGH - OCTOBER 4: Wide receiver Hines Ward #86 of the Pittsburgh Steelers smiles on the sideline against the San Diego Chargers in the second half at Heinz Field on October 4, 2009 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. (Photo by Gregory Shamus/Getty Images)
Hines Ward always had an electric personality while playing football on Sundays for the Pittsburgh Steelers. It seemed whether he scored a touchdown or got tackled Ward was always smiling. The wide receiver loved playing in football and you could tell he gave everything he had each game. Since retiring from the NFL, Ward has been busy being an analyst on NBC’s Football in America. Now Ward will have to conceal his smiles for his new role. Thanks to some help from an old college teammate Ward will be in the AMC hit show “The Walking Dead”. He does not have a major role, but you get to see what he will look like in the above picture. Ward spoke with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about his experience. He said, “Just being in makeup preparing me for my role was cool. I actually scared myself when I looked in the mirror for the first time after.” Acting like a zombie is not the only thing that is keeping Ward busy these days. You remember when the Steelers made a cameo in the final Batman film directed by Christopher Nolan? If you don’t remember you can check out the clip of Ward running a kickoff back for a touchdown in “The Dark Knight Rises” right here.
