As we mentioned last week, Holley Mangold had her moment to shine yesterday at the U.S. Olympic weightlifting trials in Columbus, O. Guess who’s going to the Olympics, b*tches? To say this makes our year is an understatement. Why? Because Nick Mangold’s sister is gregarious, knows she’s mammoth and is likely to bench press some Chinese gymnasts in the dining hall. Name another athlete having this much fun in life.

According to the Columbus Dispatch:

Mangold, one of 15 qualifiers for the U.S. Olympic Trials, finished second to fellow heavyweight Sarah Robles of Mesa, Ariz., and earned one of two available spots on the U.S. Olympic team.

Robles and Mangold lifted a total of 258 (567.6 pounds) and 255 kilograms (561 pounds), respectively. They had the highest qualifying standard of the 15 competitors and earned their spots based on their projected ability to win a medal in London.

Mangold, who stands 5 feet 8 and weighed in at 354 pounds yesterday, long has had Olympic dreams. She aspired to be a diver or gymnast.

You’re on notice, Ukraine. We’re bringing our big guns to London. Our really, really big guns.
