Judging from the title, most of you probably think this is a Sun Life Stadium bashing article, crying for the days when the Canes played in our beloved Orange Bowl. And, well, you would be right….to an extent. Listen, there’s no way to sugar coat it – the Hurricanes have been abysmal since their move from the Horseshoe in Little Havana to the stadium formerly known as Joe Robbie.

At first, the numbers don’t seem that discernible. The Hurricanes played at the Orange Bowl from 1937 to 2007. During that time, they posted a 68.7 winning percentage. That’s quite comparable to their 66.6 winning percentage at Sun Life Stadium from 2008-2010. But the Orange Bowl was Miami’s home since nineteen thirty f’n seven. Included in that 68.7 winning percentage are losses to Stetson and Rollins.
