The Houston Texans are confident that veteran QB Matt Schaub will be 100% by the time training camp opens for the team. Nick Scurfield of Houston Texans.com reported on Twitter this afternoon that Texans head coach Gary Kubiak told reporters Matt Schaub should be ready to go sometime in May.
“Kubiak said all indications are that @MSchaub8 will be full-speed sometime in May and will be ready for camp #Texans, ” Scurfield Tweeted. Schaub underwent surgery for a Lisfranc injury suffered against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season.
The Houston Texans advanced to the playoffs for the first time in franchise history this season without Schaub under center. QB Matt Leinart replaced Schaub, but he failed to last one game, suffering a collarbone fracture in his first game under center. Rookie QB T.J. Yates led the Texans to a AFC Wildcard-round win over the Cincinnati Bengals and an ultimate loss against the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Divisional Round game.
