The Patriots play the Cowboys on Sunday, and one of the players who will take the field for Dallas is mercurial WR Dez Bryant. The former first-round pick was one of several linked to the Patriots in 2010. In fact, Bryant was there for the Patriots to grab at 24, but they traded that pick to the Cowboys instead. With Sunday’s game looming, it was a good time to revisit the issue, one that involved a player with some red flags. It is relevant, of course, as the Patriots search for a deep threat, still. How close did the Patriots come to drafting Bryant? “We really scout all the players in the draft,” coach Bill Belichick said. “Again, our scouting staff definitely scouts them all.
