I don’t think we give Wes Welker enough credit. He signed his Franchise Tender on time, hasn’t missed any camps, and looks like he’s ready to dominate another season. It’s easy for those in the media to cry for the players who get franchised. “He needs a long term deal! Where’s his security!”. Well it sure has been nice for Wes to keep it in perspective that he’s going to get $9.5 million dollars this year! How many regular people even see a fraction of that in their lifetime? Clearly Wes remembers his small town roots, and hasn’t taken to the pulpit of “poor old me, if my career ends this season I have to figure out how to squeak by!”. I love Wes and would like nothing more than to continue rooting him on as a Patriot and his dedication to the team has only endeared him more to me.
