Imagining a trade that sends Packers' Aaron Rodgers to Raiders
Aaron Rodgers. Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have captivated the entire NFL news cycle. Rumors have been swirling each and every day about the superstar quarterbacks future with the franchise. Although Rodgers and the Packers have yet to make a decision, the media already has him being traded to either the New York Jets or Las Vegas Raiders.

Last week, various rumors and speculation linked Rodgers with the Jets. Now, after some Twitter comments from Davante Adams, the Raiders are picking up steam.

It does seem much more likely than ever before that Rodgers will be headed elsewhere. The Packers seem ready to move forward and give Jordan Love a chance to lead the franchise.

All of that being said, let’s take a closer look at a potential Rodgers trade to the Raiders. What would it take for Las Vegas to reunite Rodgers with Adams?

Packers receive: No. 7 overall pick, 2024 second-round pick, Hunter Renfrow

Raiders receive: Aaron Rodgers

The Raiders would be able to hold on to Darren Waller in this deal, which would be a major key to acquiring Rodgers. Also, they would be getting a quarterback who can propel them to Super Bowl contender status.

On the flip side of the deal, the Packers would be able to get an elite young piece with the No. 7 pick and an extra second-rounder next year. Being able to add a slot receiver like Renfrow would be a big win for Love as well.

Renfrow is coming off a down season with the Raiders in 2022. He played in 10 games, catching 36 passes for 330 yards and two touchdowns. Back in 2021, Renfrow had a career year, racking up 103 receptions for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns in 17 games.

Going to the Packers would give Renfrow a fresh start in an offense that has desperately needed a legitimate slot wideout. Love would be able to utilize Renfrow as a true possession receiver. Renfrow may look like a throw-in in this trade, but he would actually be an integral part.

Being able to acquire the No. 7 overall pick would be a huge win for the Packers. That pick would give GM Brian Gutekunst a chance to add an impact player on a cheaper salary. He could go with an offensive lineman, an offensive weapon or an addition to a defense already stacked with young talent.

None of the pieces the Raiders would trade will be more valuable than acquiring Rodgers. There’s nothing in this trade that should be considered untouchable.

This trade seems like it would be a win-win situation for both teams. Expect to continue hearing a ton of rumors about Rodgers and his future with the Packers. A trade to the Raiders is certainly possible, but the Jets remain in play. Keep an eye on these rumors as a decision from Rodgers could be right around the corner.
