Found October 21, 2012 on The Colts Authority:
The Indianapolis Star's Mike Chappell, on the ball as usual, says the difference in this game came down to a few big plays.  The Colts struggled (I've almost reached some kind of overuse threshold on that word this season) for long stretches in this game.  However, they kept coming up with one more big play to keep their hopes alive against the feisty Browns.  Chappell, of course, acknowledges that one of the biggest plays today might have actually been a mistake on Cleveland's part; that colossal drop by Josh Gordon in the end zone: When the offense went flat in the second half -- 124 total yards, 1-for-8 on third-down conversions -- a defense that was mauled last week by the New York Jets stepped up.It made play after play. And, yes, it got a major assist when Josh Gordon flat dropped what would have been a 41-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter. It's debatable whether Powers really helped out on that play, or if it was the bright sunlight from the open roo...

Colts With a Run Game: What?

It looks a little early to say, but the Associated Press just reported that the 2012 Indianapolis Colts have a run game. Shocking, right? Still, I'm thinking it must be true. 147 yards on Sunday, next to 186 passing yards, with a backup running back. In perspective, the Colts rushed for over 100 yards five times last year, and have already rushed for 100+ three times in six...

NFL Rumors: Reggie Wayne Calls Indianapolis Colts Rookie QB Andrew Luck Abnormal?

Could there be animosity brewing in the locker room of the Indianapolis Colts? Word out of Indy this week is that Reggie Wayne was asked to describe rookie quarterback Andrew Luck through his first five games of the 2012 NFL season, and Wayne did not hold back in saying that Luck was “not normal.” Of course, he means not normal in a good way. “He’s not your normal rookie...

Can Andrew Luck & His Colts Beat The 1-5 Cleveland Browns?

CBS Sports: Luck lifts with legs, Colts top Browns

CBSSports.com and Wire Reports recapped the Colts' mixed-feeling-inducing win over the Browns yesterday.  It looks like they came out of it with a much more positive impression of our Colts: The victory came in typical Pagano style. Indy (3-3) controlled the ball for more than 35 minutes, ran for a season-high 148 yards, held Cleveland to 55 yards on the ground, and...

Chappell: Entrusting rookie QBs can be bumpy ride, but payoff can be great

Good old Mike Chappell of The Indianapolis Star delves into the difficulties and benefits of entrusting the offense to a rookie quarterback.  While his completion percentage seems out of character, that's not necessarily the case. In his final two seasons at Stanford, Luck completed 70.7 and 71.3 percent of his passes. But he was a 56.3 passer in his first year as a starter...

When he took charge of a Bills team that had won only four times over their previous two seasons, Bill Polian was confident they would one day achieve success. His dreams quickly became reality. Browns knew what they were doing with Josh Gordon pick

Credit the Browns with taking the risk in the supplementary draft sticking their neck out for a problematic player like Josh Gordon. No one ever questioned his physical ability on the football field, it was the luggage that he brings with the off the field issues. After seven weeks in the 2012 year, the Browns look to have an exciting core of offensive players after extensive criticism...
