There was some positive news for the Patriots as they practiced one more time at Gillette in advance of Sunday night’s showdown with the Jets at Met Life stadium. According to colleague Ian Rapoport, who made the trek to the upper grass fields, safety Patrick Chung, who had not practiced all week with a foot injury, was out on the field.
According to Rapoport, Chung spent a good part of the time chatting with Patriots coach Bill Belichick. At one point, Belichick could be seen bouncing on his feet, as if he was checking to see if Chung was comfortable doing the same.
Another returnee was offensive lineman Ryan Wendell (head), who saw quite a bit of time at center last week against the Giants.
On the negative side, neither Brandon Spikes (knee), nor Dane Fletcher (thumb) were spotted. That’s bad news in terms of their availability Sunday. That also means we’re likely to see some Niko Koutouvides at linebacker.
