The Vikings-to-Los-Angeles speculation has been floating around for a while, but AEG president Tim Leiweke dropped some news to the Orange County Register that could either prove to be a significant long-term development or just more talk.
Leiweke told the Register that AEG, which is looking to move a team to L.A. full time after a 16-year absence, has spoken with representatives of five NFL teams, including the Vikings.
The details of the Vikings' potential talks with Leiweke on this development are still unclear. Pioneer Press columnist Charley Walters reported in May that Leiweke and owner Zygi Wilf were spotted at the W Hotel in Minneapolis. Wilf told the Pioneer Press' Dave Orrick later that month that he met with Leiweke about a "sports entertainment model" for the Arden Hills site, and that "there was nothing else to it."
