Found March 14, 2013 on Patriots Life:
Leon Washington wouldn't help much at the running back position, but he is a great punt and kick returner. He's being let go in Seattle because they got Percy Harvin, who gives them a threat as both a returner and a receiver. The interest level in returners is probably an indication that they aren't entirely confident in Jeff Demps - the Olympic sprinter who they brought in last off-season but missed all year after being placed on IR. Demps has returned to Track and is running with Team USA, but still maintains that he wants to continue playing football. The Patriots need a boost in their return game and after losing out on Josh Cribbs, it seems like they are trying to bring some competition there. Bringing in Washington might also be a bad sign for Danny Woodhead's return, since the Patriots would have a huge stable of running backs. Julian Edelman is also slightly effected since he has been used as the Patriots punt returner, but he has value as a receiver. F...

Leon Washington to Be Released

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Seahawks are planning to release RB Leon Washington.  It's strange to be even talking about releasing a player who just made the Pro Bowl as one of the best return men in the business, but the impending signing of Percy Harvin made him expendable.  Harvin is a pretty decent return man in his own right, and the contract the team is...

New return man for the Patriots Leon Washington snaps a picture of himself via instagram with the quote #Blessed. Lets Go #Pats. New England is well on their way to filling the Wes Welker void.  They first acquired slot receiver Danny Amendola, and have now got their return game in place with Leon Washington.  The Patriots have a history of making good with New York Jets leftovers...

Why Leon Washington will vastly improve Patriots special teams in 2013

Over the past two seasons, the New England Patriots have been one of the worst teams in football when it comes to kick returns. In 2011, they finished 29 in the NFL and 25 last season. To improve on that for the upcoming season, the team signed former New York Jets and Seattle Seahawks RB/KR Leon Washington to one-year deal on Thursday. Washington, who can return punts and kicks...

Woodhead, Chargers agree to deal

Wes Welker isn't the only popular New England Patriots player headed to the AFC West in 2013. The San Diego Chargers have agreed to a reported two-year deal with reliable running back Danny Woodhead on Friday. Undrafted, Woodhead was released by the New York Jets in training camp in 2010, but has excelled as a Patriots back for the past three seasons in New England. He scored...

Woodhead Signs with Chargers

Well you obviously can’t bring everyone back and with the signing of Leon Washington, the writing was perhaps on the wall for Danny Woodhead who signed a two-year contract with the San Diego Chargers. Woodhead who came to New England after being released by the New York Jets was a valuable third down back and punt returner for the team in his three seasons in Foxboro. Follow...

Danny Woodhead has signed a two-year deal with the San Diego...

Danny Woodhead has signed a two-year deal with the San Diego Chargers. Between Stevan Ridley, Brandon Bolden, Shane Vereen and now Leon Washington (to an extent), there wasn’t an overwhelming need to bring Woodhead back to New England, though he was arguable the Patriots most reliable runningback in 2012. He was a fun player to watch, and the great heart he played with will be missed.

Report: Danny Woodhead Signs Two-Year Deal With Chargers

Another offensive weapon from the Patriots 2012 season is on his way to new pastures. Just two days after wide receiver Wes Welker signed with Denver, running back Danny Woodhead reportedly signed a two-year deal with the Chargers, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston. Woodhead played 16 games last season and racked up 301 rushing yards on 76 carries to go with four touchdowns...

Chargers Add Woodhead To Backfield

Former Patriots running back Danny Woodhead has signed a two-year deal with the Chargers.Fantasy Spin:Woodhead had 747 yards from scrimmage, seven touchdowns and 40 receptions last season. He'll serve as San Diego's third-down back and could provide decent value in PPR leagues considering Ronnie Brown had 49 catches in that role last season.

Chargers Reach An Agreement With RB Danny Woodhead

Mike Reiss reports that the San Diego Chargers have reached a two-year agreement with free agent RB Danny Woodhead. The Patriots recently signed Leon Washington to a one-year deal, which left Woodhead on the outs in New England. San Diego lost Darren Sproles to the Saints a few years ago and haven’t found an adequate replacement for him since. Ronnie Brown was their third-down...
