Is Robert Griffin III Worth the Redskins Blockbuster Trade? We told you folks a few weeks ago that the St. Louis Rams were shopping their second round pick in the upcoming NFL draft. The Cleveland Browns were the favorite candidate to do the deal because of their 4th pick, but late last night out of nowhere comes Dan Snyder and the Washington Redskins. Snyder pulled off a blockbuster deal, yielding 3 first round draft picks and a second round pick this year to the St. Louis Rams in exchange for the 2nd overall pick. The Rams will now be picking 6th overall and its widely expected they’ll go after Oklahoma State WR Justin Blackmon with that pick. On paper, the deal sounds preposterous, but as I explained in my previous piece about these types of trades, they can pan out quite nicely (See: Eli Manning to NY Giants).

Well, I guess its fair to say the Redskins are out of the Peyton Manning sweepstakes and if No.18 was planning on visiting the nation...
BEST OF MAXIM
AROUND THE WEB
Bittersweet day for the city of Washington tonight, Dan Snyder decided to bring in a new, dreadlocks-filled face, to replace one of the sexiest of the last decade. Trading three first round picks and one second round pick to get the Rams #2 pick this draft, the Skins find themselves in regular Redskins place, hopeful. RG3 can thank Andrew Luck for all the praise and desperation...
Chris Russell of ESPN 980 in Washington is reporting that Peyton Manning wants nothing to do with the Washington Redskins.
“A couple of different sources inside the organization have told me that Manning’s camp made it pretty clear to Redskins officials he doesn’t want to come here,” said Russell. “… There’s lots of reasons for that. His brother Eli, the colder weather...
Robert Griffin III went from being a Heisman Trophy winner, to having breakout-star potential, to, today, needing to be the best quarterback ever. Simultaneously, Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder became the dumbest, most irresponsible owner of all time, when he traded the St Louis Rams the 6th overall pick, two future first round picks, and this years second round pick, for the...
As Peyton Manning narrows his choices between Denver and Arizona, and the Jets elect to extend Mark Sanchez, the importance of having a franchise quarterback – and the difference between the haves and have-nots – is as apparent as ever in the NFL.
So on Friday, the Washington Redskins pulled off a trade that rocked the league, acquiring the #2 selection in April’s draft...
MIke Shanahan and Dan Snyder are sick of sucking. Will their move up in the draft prove to be the move needed to turn the Redskins around? Let's hope not.
The Washington Redskins are sick of being the butt of jokes and are ready to play hardball. They demonstrated this on Friday night in an incredibly bold (read: risky) trade with the St. Louis Rams to secure the #2 spot in this...
Whispers are circulating that Peyton Manning does not want to play for the Washington Redskins and that he so informed the team. When has anyone said "no" to Daniel Snyder? To Mike Shanahan? Yes, it was done when undrafted rookie Tony Romo turned down the offer to join Shanahan in Denver to sign instead with the Cowboys for half the money. But to turn down a Snyder offer...
The Cleveland Browns lost another one; Daniel Snyder bought the rights to draft Robert Griffin III in next month’s NFL draft.
To move from the sixth pick to the second Snyder gave up this year’s first and second round pick plus the Redskins first round pick for both 2013 and 2014. In essence, Snyder traded four players for the right to draft RG3.
Like him, or hate him, Snyder...
It is expected that the Washington Redskins are going to select Baylor’s Robert Griffin III with the second pick in next month’s NFL Draft. I say expected because most believe that the Colts are dead set on choosing Stanford’s Andrew Luck #1 overall. Regardless, the Skins will end up with a great QB prospect. However, the Skins gave up a lot to be in this position. They...
The Redskins have traded three 1st round picks to the Rams to acquire the 2nd pick in the 2012 NFL draft which would give the Redskins the ability to draft Robert Griffin III. The Rams always receive the Redskins 2nd round pick in this years draft.
The Redskins just gave up the house to get Griffin, but could be worth it if Griffin turns out to be an elite quarterback. Redskins...
Dangerous Dan Snyder wants to go balls to the wall after Peyton Manning. Unfortunately for the Skins, Peyton doesn't want anything to do with them. Not sure I can blame him. The Redskins seem to have a history of burying after their prime players. Bruce Smith anyone? According to Chris Russell of ESPN 980, Peyton
In a move described by many to be “risky”, (or in my dictionary, stupid as hell) the Washington Redskins, planning to draft Robert Griffin III, traded three of their first round draft picks, and a second round pick to the St. Louis Rams to move up to the second overall pick in this years NFL Draft in hopes of drafting the franchise quarterback that has eluded their franchise...
There goes the neighborhood.
We have been waiting for the shoe to drop, and there it is. News broke tonight the St. Louis Rams made away like bandits as they fleeced the Washington Redskins to the tune of three first-round draft picks and a second round draft pick. All of this of course in return for the second overall pick in the draft.
All of this for RGIII.
Dan Snyder and...
Robert Griffin IIIFor a perpetually floundering team, it was the opportunity to make a commitment to win now. For the once promising club who struggled mightily last year, it was a chance to deepen the roster for the next couple of years. The Washington Redskins made what easily will be the boldest move for this years NFL draft. They've acquired the St. Louis Rams pick, the second...
