This Sunday the Seahawks starting quarterback returns to a state that knows how much talent this guy has. When Russell Wilson and his Seattle Seahawks pay a visit to Charlotte to take on the Panthers, the state of North Carolina just might be rooting for Wilson. He spent a lot of time there in his college days and they know what a great athletic talent he is. The Seahawks should be able to destroy the Panthers. Seattle looks like a powerhouse coming into the 2013 season and Wilson is leading the way this season. There is little hope of Carolina being able to stop this Seahawks offensive attack. Wilson and company may  have the game won by the half. If Seattle’s defense can control Cam Newton, which I think they can, the Seahawks should have a blow out in week one. This is short of like a homecoming for Wilson. He spent time at North Carolina State University before transferring to Wisconsin. In 2008, he played both football and baseball there and could have had a professional career in either sport. The Seahawks are fortunate that he picked football. At only 24-years-old Wilson plays like a seasoned veteran. He has the calm that some playing the game for years are still missing. If he opens the season the way he is capable of playing, he is going to be unstoppable this season. And so are the Seahawks……… I think this team is Super Bowl Bound this season.  If you are a fan of the Seahawks and Russell Wilson, tell us what your expectations are this season. Here’s an interesting look into what makes Seattle Seahawks Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas such great players.  Both members of Seattle’s famous “Legion of Boom”, Sherman and Thomas teamed up with the Sport Science crew to examine their athletic abilities in an attempt to figure out why they are so successful.  Definitely an interesting video worth watching. The post...

Seahawks fantasy forecast – Week 1 NFL predictions

Start ‘em & Sit ‘em Week 1 Fantasy Football - Seattle Seahawks Week 1 predictions The 2013 NFL season is finally upon us, and for the Seattle Seahawks it brings with it a mountain of expectations. That said, there are only a few sure-fire Fantasy starters on the roster. Marshawn Lynch as always is a must-start with the defense projecting to be a top 10 unit in Week 1, but...

Richard Sherman Reflects On How It Feels When A Beloved Veteran Is Cut

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman is a certified loudmouth who has gained his reputation around NFL circles — players, media, fans — thanks to on-field antics, as well as alleged off-field transgressions. What people often forget is that Sherman is also a very motivated fifth-round pick out of Stanford, who can be rather eloquent at times (Sherm refers to himself as...

Seahawks open season with questions along defensive line

The Seattle Seahawks may have the deepest roster in the NFL, but with injuries and a pending suspension, the team opens the 2013 season with a black cloud over the defensive line.

Seahawks injury report: Cliff Avril, Chris Clemons, Sidney Rice

This week, the Seattle Seahawks travel to the east coast to visit the Carolina Panthers. As of Thursday evening, there are still several players whose game status is up in the air. Perhaps the most important is defensive end Cliff Avril, who was acquired by Seattle during the offseason via free agency. Avril previously played for the Detroit Lions where he wreaked havoc off...

Seahawks CB Brandon Browner limited in practice due to strained hamstring

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner was a surprise limited-participant in practice on Wednesday due to a strained hamstring, according to ESPN.com's Terry Blount. Browner played in all four of Seattle’s preseason games without any problems. This particular injury popped up somewhat mysteriously leaving his availability for this weekend in question. It is possible head...

Seahawks Percy Harvin hints at possible week 7 return

Seattle Seahawk wide receiver Percy Harvin hinted at a possible week 7 return this week on Twitter, according to NFL.com's Marc Sessler. Harvin’s official Twitter account read “keep an eye on week 7” when referring to his progress. The former University of Florida playmaker has been sidelined with a torn labrum after being acquired by the Seahawks this past offseason. Many...

Getting Ready For The Start Of The Seattle Seahawks Season

The Seattle Seahawks open the 2013 season with more anticipation than any season opener in recent memory.  Even in their NFC championship season of 2005, when they were coming off their third division title in team history, there was a bad aftertaste the way they closed the 2004 season with a playoff loss to the St. Louis Rams, giving them an 0-3 season mark in that rivalry.  Since...

Percy Harvin Could Return Sooner Than Expected?

Seahawks receiver Percy Harvin tweeted Wednesday that fans should "keep an eye on week 7."Fantasy Spin:Harvin informed the public that he is "making serious progress" in his recovery from hip surgery. While it's unlikely Harvin will be back immediately after his stay on the PUP list ends, fantasy owners should target him late in drafts because he could very...

NFC West Breakdown

Seattle Seahawks Prediction: 1st in division (13-3 overall) Strengths: The 12th man. The Seahawks are just brutal to play at home. Defense gave up just over 11 points per game last season at home. They didn’t lose a game at home either. Oh and Marshawn Lynch is a beast. Russell Wilson is a stud. And Pete Carroll just loves winning. Causes for concern: Not too many causes for concern...

Seattle Seahawks Rookies To Watch

The Seattle Seahawks played their last preseason game a week ago, beating the Oakland Raiders 22-6.  Usually the last preseason game isn’t important for the starters – for example, QB Russell Wilson only played one series against the Raiders.  But he only needed one to complete three of three, passing 68 yards for a three minute opening drive that ended in the Hawks first touchdown...

Seahawks Secondary: The Link to Lombardi

Sherman and Browner (@Seahawks)   With this current secondary, the Seattle Seahawks can boast one the greatest defensive units of all time but on one condition: they must win a Lombardi trophy. Legacies matter in sports, especially football, so if Seattle, particularly their safeties and corner backs wish to enter the pantheon of NFL legend and pigskin lore, a Super Bowl ring,...

What I’m watching for in the Seahawks vs Panthers Week 1 match up

Break the Road Mold Oh sweet 6 pound, 7 ounce baby Jesus. The NFL and our Seahawks 2013 championship season has finally come! Never in Seattle sports history has a season been so hyped and anticipated. The agonizing wait of the preseason has felt like being slow-cooked in a crock pot of football teasers and mock fantasy drafts for 7 months. But my friends, the wait is over. The Seahawks...

Seattle Seahawks: Secondary Storylines

When discussing the strengths of the Seattle Seahawks, the secondary has to be towards the top of the list. This is undoubtedly one of the most loaded line-ups of defensive backs in the NFL. So loaded, in fact, that free-agent acquisition Antoine Winfield opted for retirement when it became clear that he would be cut in favor of 2010 draft pick Walter Thurmond. In a defensive...
