St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson apparently wasn’t lying when he mentioned that he would consider retirement after the season. Steven Jackson
Jackson said that he plans to have a meeting with the team in the off-season. At that meeting, he will determine the options that he has available to him.
He has admitted that retirement is an option if he is not entirely happy with the team’s direction. Jackson has mentioned in the past that he would rather retire like Detroit Lions great running back Barry Sanders, who walked away early from the game instead of playing too long.
This season, he played in all 16 games, and had 1,042 rushing yards. He had 4 rushing touchdowns. He had 321 receiving yards on 38 receptions.
The 1,042 yards were the worst of his career since the 2008 when he also ended the season with 1,042 yards. He only played in 12 games that season, though.
The Oregon State product has been in the league since 2004. He has 10,135 yards and 56 rushing touchdowns. He also has 407 receptions for 3,324 receiving yards and 8 receiving touchdowns.
