The Jaguars announced Thursday that this weekend’s home game against Cincinnati will mark the last time in which teal will serve as their primary jersey.

Starting with the Week 5 home game against Chicago, the Jaguars will begin wearing black jerseys for home games. They haven’t worn black jerseys since the 2009 season.

Wearing teal on Sunday coincides with Jaguars Alumni Weekend and the induction of Fred Taylor into The Pride of the Jaguars.

Owner Shad Khan said in a statement: “After this Sunday’s game, we will wear black as our primary jersey and teal will be reserved for special occasions as our alternate jersey. Teal will continue to be a part of our uniform and our logo, but on the field, our identity will grow in black jerseys.”

Blaine Gabbert’s got the looks, but does he have the goods?

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert obviously has a pretty boy persona. When he entered the NFL last season, he had long blonde hair and looked more like a model for Abercrombie and Fitch than a football player. If he had the physique of a Tim Tebow, he could easily start peddling ‘I can’t believe it’s not butter’ spread like Fabio and there’s nothing wrong...

Maurice Jones-Drew doesn’t need training camp

Maurice Jones-Drew of the Jacksonville Jaguars, had a much publicized holdout in the off-season.  Everyone hyped it up and explained how he would have a ‘down’ year. Jones-Drew came into Week 1 with a performance that shows holding out of training camp really doesn’t matter anymore. Jones-Drew was demoted as the starter in Jacksonville against the Minnesota Vikings in...

Jaguars WR Robinson sits out practice again

Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Laurent Robinson missed a second consecutive day of practice Thursday while recovering from a concussion. Coach Mike Mularkey says Robinson is likely to practice Friday and could play two days later against Cincinnati. His status depends on how the team's leading receiver feels following Friday's workout. Robinson sustained a concussion in...

L.A. City Council approves downtown NFL stadium bill

Looks like USC won’t be the only pro football team in Los Angeles anymore. ESPN LA is reporting that stadium developers finally got the approval from LA City Council to proceed with the building of a new downtown stadium that will allow the city of angels to bring back a NFL franchise. Reports say that the next hurdle is convincing one or two of the downtrodden NFL franchises...

Laurent Robinson returns to practice Friday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Laurent Robinson returned to practice Friday and is expected to play against Cincinnati. NFL Week 4: Trendspotting the Jacksonville Jaguars

Maurice Jones-Drew, Blaine Gabbert and Cecil Shorts provided the Jaguars faithful with another last minute, come from behind, dramatic lead change. This time, the defense held on to a 22-17 win over Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts. This was a good win for team that desperately needed one, and should provide a jolt of confidence for this young team as they prepare to take on...

Jacksonville Jaguars: Week 4 NFL Power Rankings (#30)

Last week: 30 (+0) Record: 1-2 The Jaguars beat the Colts in Indianapolis, but you have to be concerned with how Blaine Gabbert did against a banged up Colts defense that wasn’t very good to begin with. Gabbert went 10 of 21 for 155 yards and a touchdown with 80 of those yards coming on one play to Cecil Shorts where the receiver did most of the work. He only won because of that...

Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew Says Team Got Numerous Trade Offers For Him

Running back Maurice Jones-Drew held out of the preseason and training camp for 38 days before reporting to the Jaguars the weekend before the start of the regular season. "I...

Five Keys to Victory: Week Four

Riding high with the win over Washington, Cincinnati makes its second early-season trip in as many years to Jacksonville.  The Jaguars are still in a rebuilding phase with QB Blaine Gabbert, who hasn’t shown as much as fellow 2011 draft picks Cam Newton, Christian Ponder, or our own Andy Dalton.  He does have some weapons, most importantly the mighty mite, Maurice Jones-Drew...

Bengals-Jaguars Preview

Having Maurice Jones-Drew in the Jacksonville Jaguars' backfield has made life a little easier for Blaine Gabbert as he continues to experience growing pains in his second NFL season. Jones-Drew will try to help the Jaguars even their record Sunday when they host Andy Dalton and the Cincinnati Bengals. During the offseason, Jones-Drew sought to renegotiate his contract after...

2 Guys – Week 4: 2 Guys 2 Watch

Evan’s Week 4 Spotlight The Guy I Like: Cecil Shorts, Jacksonville Jaguars It might sound crazy but Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert and his group of receivers should find some success this week against a Bengals team that has felt comfortable finding itself in shootouts in the early season.
